For several years, a team from South Woden led worship at The Canberra Hospital Chapel on the third Thursday of the month. Individual members also provide support to other services at the Chapel.
The afternoon service was a reflective Taize style service. We led worship and also encouraged church members to form a core congregation for that day. Attendance of hospital patients, relatives and staff was generally fairly low but we recognised that the worship offered an opportunity for South Woden members to pray for the hospital ministries and other needs known to us. We also appreciated this opportunity for mid-week worship together. We considered our involvement to be an important and worshipful addition to our outreach activities and one that we will to provide in the future.
Our support to the Hospital Chaplain is currently in recess as we determine the best way to support the Chaplain in our new arrangement.
